Entry Requirement
No prior knowledge of the EIVA Navisuite software solutions is required.
Training Days
December 17th – 18th, 2024 : NaviPac 4.6.2 and NaviScan 9.7.6
Learning Objectives
The course is structured around a general curriculum with the aim being to furnish the trainees with a broad understanding of the EIVA NaviSuite online software solutions and make them confident in using these software solutions on a vessel.
To enhance trainee competence and confidence, typical construction support and acquisition scenarios are used as examples throughout the training. For the most part, the course is conducted as hands-on training, thus taking advantage of the comprehensive simulation functionalities that have been implemented into the NaviPac and NaviScan software solutions.
During the course, trainees are guided through how to:
Day 1

- Install the relevant NaviSuite software solutions
- Understand the basic architecture of NaviPac
- Configure NaviPac with common instruments, geodesy, objects, etc
- Run various programs for different tasks (calibration, documentation, QA)
- Log survey data for different tasks and in different formats
- Start, configure, and use the Helmsman’s Display
- Create and manipulate waypoints and runlines
- Use different map background formats
Day 2
-
- Understand the basic architecture of NaviScan
- Configure NaviScan with common instruments, geodesy, objects, etc
- Control the logging process from the Helmsman’s Display
- Start and configure the Online 3D utility
Target Group
The course is aimed towards surveyor who have basic survey knowledge.
Duration
The duration of the classroom training is 2 (two) days, from 9.00 – 16.00, including breaks.
Completion
An EIVA NaviSuite training certificate is issued to each trainee upon completion of the course.
Access to NaviSuite
EIVA NaviSuite can be downloaded from EIVA website (https://download.eiva.com/#) for preparation purposes and can partially run-in demo/simulation mode.

December 19th – 20th, 2024: NaviEdit 8.8, NaviModel 4.8, and NaviPlot 2.5
Learning Objectives
The course is structured around a general curriculum with the aim being to furnish the trainees with a broad understanding of the EIVA NaviSuite offline software solutions and make them confident in using these software solutions in postprocessing situations.
To enhance trainee competence and confidence, a wide range of typical hydrographic survey data, acquired using the EIVA NaviSuite online software solutions, are used to exemplify typical post-processing scenarios. For the most part, the course is conducted as hands-on training.
During the course, trainees are guided through how to:
Day 1

- Install the relevant NaviSuite software solutions
- Understand the basic architecture of NaviEdit, NaviModel and NaviPlot
- Conduct editing of multi-beam and single beam data in a NaviEdit/NaviModel environment
- Conduct a patch test calibration in NaviModel/NaviEdit
Day 2
-
- Use the EC-3D automatic cleaning tool, semi-automatic, and manual
- Use the various DTM tools in NaviModel
- Conduct volume and area calculations in NaviModel
- Export data from NaviModel using generic as well as built-in tools
- Create simple plots in NaviPlot
- Create plot series in NaviPlot using the Chart Layout Manager
